License Eligibility

License Eligibility is the Texas DPS online system that shows a driver what is on their own record and what is required before a license becomes valid again.

Sources checked

It is the only source that answers a particular driver’s question. Every other statement about how long a filing runs, which suspensions are outstanding, or what fees are owed is a general rule; this shows the record the state is actually holding.

It matters most at the end of an SR-22 requirement. Texas DPS ordinarily measures two years from the most recent conviction or judgment date, and the record rather than the calendar is what says when that lands.

An agency can transmit a certificate. It cannot see a driver’s DPS record for them, and no page on this site can tell a reader their own end date.

Where this is handled

A definition does not file anything. When the suspension date is closer than the research, one independent agency on FM 1959 can transmit the SR-22 to the DPS and tell you what the state wants before you pay anyone anything.
